Equipment Information
For each kayak lesson taken from Osprey Outdoors you will be provided with:
- lunch
- life jacket
- helmet
- paddling jacket
- paddle
- boat
- spray skirt
- water bottle
- nose plugs
It is the participant's responsibility to provide these items:
- sunscreen
- wicking undergarments (fleece or polypropylene work the best)
- a fleece sweater is highly recommended during spring and early summer, for the water is cold!
- wetsuits (if you'd like a wetsuit, please bring one to the class)
These items can be purchased at sporting good stores, ski shops or even Wal-Mart. Once you have these clothes, they are useful for a variety of outdoor activities.
Foot wear is very important for river related activities:
- attaching sandals such as Tevas or a similar design will work.
- used or old tennis shoes are okay too.
- a warm pair of wool socks or ski socks also help keep your feet warmer in spring and early summer.
