What to bring and what to eat list

Thank you for requesting information from Osprey Outdoors Kayak School. I hope you choose Osprey Outdoors as the school to teach you a skill for life...whitewater kayaking!

If you would like to reserve a camp spot at the Tree of Heaven Camp Ground, which has sites on the Klamath River (composting toilets - no showers), please contact me at least three weeks before taking the class, and I will be glad to reserve a camp site for you. Sites are ten dollars per night and two tents per site (summer 2002 pricing, subject to change). If you are camping, you will need your personal camping equipment also. You will need to bring breakfast and dinner food, or treat yourself to a night out in Yreka.

If camping is not your style, the historic mining town of Yreka is twenty to thirty minutes away with plenty of lodging available. Call me and I can help you select lodging.

Here's what you will need on the river with Osprey:
A towel or lawn chair for taking breaks.
Sun screen. Minimum 15 block.
Swimsuit or swim shorts.
A ball cap keeps the sun out of your eyes.
A pair of water shoes, which you can get at Walmart or other department stores. Tevas are sometimes too big to fit in the boats, (great for around camp though!) and old tennis shoes are too big as well.
Don't forget your sunglasses!
If you have snorkeling gear, and you want to bring your favorite mask, that sometimes helps with the roll.
If you are camping you will need all your camping gear along with breakfast and dinner food

Call or email me at info@ospreykayak.com to reserve a class.

Thanks again!

Michael
